Dinosaurs and humans

How can we benefit from a chickenosaurus?

Chickenosaurs will help scientists to find truth in their hypotheses. We could finally answer some big questions.
1) What is the closest thing to dinosaur DNA we can find?
2) Are birds truly related to dinosaurs?
3) What about the dinosaur's DNA may have caused them to go into decline prior to the extraterrestrial event?
4) How long does it take to use genetic engineering to reverse the evolution of an animal?
Etc.

A tool to teach
This retro-engineered dinosaur could teach children about the process of evolution in an eye-catching and interesting way. Everyone benefits from being engaged in science and learning.

Benefits to humans in general
This process would allow scientists to study genetics in GREAT DEPTH. It would take years and years for scientists to create a chicken dinosaur. They would learn all about how proteins and genes interact with am embryo. More importantly, we can learn about genetic defects. Learning about these genetic defects or mutations in chicken embryos, can help scientists to understand how genetic defects in humans work. Also, we could learn how to prevent some of these genetic defects.

Dinosaurs in real life?

Right now you can go to any natural history museum and learn about the biology of dinosaurs and the geology of their time period. How did we learn all of these things about dinosaurs? We looked at their fossils.

But there seems to be some confusion about dinosaur fossils. Fossils are rocks. They are not the actual dinosaur bones. For this reason, scientists know very little about dinosaur’s chemical makeup, their DNA, and their genes.

Some people may ask, “How would retro-engineered dinosaurs arouse the publics attention in a way that current fossils do not?”

I guess there isn’t a solid answer to that question since we do not know how the public would react to a real-life dinosaur. But I have a feeling that a living, breathing dinosaur would draw A LOT more attention to dinosaurs and science compared to fossils. Of course people enjoy looking at fossils of dinosaur bones, but I think people would be more enamored by a real dinosaur.

Jack Horner and friends

Now that we are clear about the theory, we need the proof.

Proof #1
Scientists found a mutant chicken embryo that was developing saber teeth. Chickens never grow teeth. For this reason, Matthew Harris, began inserting genes into chicken embryos that would hopefully help to activate the dormant dinosaur gene in chickens that causes them to grow teeth. The tests worked and here are the results!

Proof #2
Chicken embryos have tails with many vertebrates. With time and growth the tail shortens. But Hanns Larsson was able to coat the embryonic tail in a protein that caused it to continue growing.

Proof #3
This fluffy chicken grows feathers on its feet! Because of this observation scientists realized that chickens can grow feathers instead of scales and vice versa.

Dinosaurs in the USA

Everyone loves dinosaurs. Seriously, you are crazy if you don’t worship the tiny-armed, big-headed, vicious t-rex.

So what if I told you dinosaurs could come back?

Well, that is the whole point of my blog. I am going to tell you that it is possible for dinosaurs to come back by activating dormant dinosaur genes in birds, a form of genetic engineering. In fact, I am even going to share how the return of dinosaurs would be beneficial to science and the general public.

The main idea:
Birds evolved from dinosaurs. Birds have dormant dinosaur genes in their genome. Scientists can try to discover these genes. Scientists can use proteins and other fancy things to activate these dormant genes in bird embryos.

The result:
A mutant dinosaur bird thing.

Internet warriors, stow your keyboards, this blog is simply about the idea that IT IS possible for dinosaurs to return. The ethicality of genetic engineering and cloning will not be discussed here because it is a completely different topic. In other words, lets not keyboard comment fight over the argument that dinosaurs SHOULD return.

Unfortunately, many scientists believe that there are better things that they should be doing with their time. For this reason, all of my research links back to Jack Horner. Jack Horner is the only scientist that is accumulating all of the information and research going into recreating a dinosaur. He has created a documentary and a book. Both of which say pretty much the same thing. So it may seem like I am only mention sources that include Horner because I haven’t done much research, but really he is the only scientist that is leading this process and accumulating all of the information.
