Scientists found a mutant chicken embryo that was developing saber teeth. Chickens never grow teeth. For this reason, Matthew Harris, began inserting genes into chicken embryos that would hopefully help to activate the dormant dinosaur gene in chickens that causes them to grow teeth. The tests worked and here are the results!

Chicken embryos have tails with many vertebrates. With time and growth the tail shortens. But Hanns Larsson was able to coat the embryonic tail in a protein that caused it to continue growing.

This fluffy chicken grows feathers on its feet! Because of this observation scientists realized that chickens can grow feathers instead of scales and vice versa.
