Dinosaurs in real life?

Right now you can go to any natural history museum and learn about the biology of dinosaurs and the geology of their time period. How did we learn all of these things about dinosaurs? We looked at their fossils.

But there seems to be some confusion about dinosaur fossils. Fossils are rocks. They are not the actual dinosaur bones. For this reason, scientists know very little about dinosaur’s chemical makeup, their DNA, and their genes.

Some people may ask, “How would retro-engineered dinosaurs arouse the publics attention in a way that current fossils do not?”

I guess there isn’t a solid answer to that question since we do not know how the public would react to a real-life dinosaur. But I have a feeling that a living, breathing dinosaur would draw A LOT more attention to dinosaurs and science compared to fossils. Of course people enjoy looking at fossils of dinosaur bones, but I think people would be more enamored by a real dinosaur.
